I make knives!!!! It’s true. Not just a painter/printer, now a knife maker too.

I recently had the opportunity at Maker Fair at the PNE this year (2013) to demonstrate my newest skills to a lot of really cool and bizarre folks. Thanks Maker Fair! I was there as a part of Gropps Gallery. We were talking about our perspectives on our collective, having celebrated our 5 year with a retrospective.

It was my first time actually making knives in public and it was a lot of fun. I filed. I sanded. I chatted. I explained. I cringed (at the many balloon explosions from the art piece next to me).

I had a blast. Made most of one knife. Yay!

If you’re interested in my knives and such, I’ll be posting a few images of them up here.

I am not to the point where I want to sell anything. My steel tempering still needs work. But, I am really happy to share what I have learned about the subject to anyone who is interested in some practical knowledge about metallurgy and technique.

Ya new skills!!!!
